Someone Has to be the Shock Absorber
Being a lifelong resident of the Detroit area, every story uses a metaphor that revolves around automobiles at some point. My case in point, high performance floors should be your shock absorbers.
It doesn’t matter if you are a 200 pound basketball center, or a 120 pound ballerina, the impact energy of your performance has to end up somewhere. In an automobile, the impact of your tire falling into an unforeseen pothole is absorbed by the shock absorber and springs of the suspension.
In basketball or ballet that impact force, if not absorbed by the flooring system, will transfer back into your tendons, soft muscle pacts, and skeletal system. This returning shock wave will cause fatigue and under prolonged conditions: injury. We have designed high performance athletic and performing arts floor that become that shock absorber, so you don’thave to be.
